Dr. Akimenko`s laboratory is interested in understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying fin regeneration and embryonic fin development using the zebrafish as a model. He will first present the functional analysis of hedgehog signalling in the regenerating fins. Then, he will present their study of the fish-specific actinodin gene family coding for structural components of the actinotrichia.
